High Fidelity (Sweden) February 2003 | | | The Oval 10 gives you the specific Analysis Plus sound.
Warmth and presence combined with a broad and somewhat diffuse soundstage, which comes across as very detailed, modestly warm and intimate. The most significant is the midrange, which is slightly extended deducting similarly from the upper frequencies. Definitely a good cable.
About the Power Oval
We find, as previously more air in the upper range as well as increased clarity. At the same time the entire midrange is pulled forward, giving voices new clarity.
Nuances that previously were blurred are now clear, and there is a wonderful richness and presence in voices.
Where other cables focus on the upper range, the Power Oval focuses on the midrange. The singers are coming closer, and you can almost count their teeth and see the glimpse in their eyes.
Even the top range has great clarity as well as the obvious – weightless and very detailed. The buzzing from analogue tape recordings suddenly appears crystal clear.
The wonderfully natural richness continues in the lower range, where the AP Power Oval has extended power and authority. In this area, this cable was one of the best.
